My Story

So - How did I get here?

Whilst heavily pregnant with my second Daughter, I was naturally thinking about the life I had created and how much joy she would bring into our lives. I would think about telling her to always follow her dreams, no matter how scary they felt but there was a problem - how could I be authentic with my daughter if I wasn’t following my own advice?! You see - I have always been so obsessed with the beauty world and, in particular, the way a woman can express herself through the way she chooses her body to look. I really have always considered it as art and the fact not one of us are the same just makes it soooo much more interesting. I loved how confident I would feel when i got my eyebrows, lashes & nails done and, for me, the best part of a night out was getting ready! The truth is, I had always wanted a career in the beauty industry as it lit my soul on fire but I had always been scared of taking that risk especially when I was in a secure & well paid job. However, I knew that in order to lead by example to both my girls, I had to take my own advice and be brave enough to follow my dreams and do what makes me happy whilst offering a service to ladies which would undoubtedly make them feel like they are the most important person in the world (because its true)!! So there I was, finally looking into what I needed to do to bring my vision to life, the actions I needed to take and how I was going to finally make this happen… So when Alice was three months old, I officially set up the business and went on my first (of many) training course and so - Black Penny Beauty Lounge was born!

About your therapist

Before starting her career in the beauty industry- Rebecca was a PA to the Director of a Law Firm so is extremely organised in every aspect of her life. Rebecca is a very spiritual soul and loves working with the law of attraction, moon magic and the lunar cycles. She is a very caring, bubbly and open minded person with a motto of “what can I give to the world” instead of “what can the world give me”.

She is married to her childhood sweetheart, Ben and they have two daughters Evie (12) and Alice (3). When she isn’t spending time with her family she loves to read - especially books based on self-progression and growth. She believes that everyone has a purpose and we are all placed here to help and support each other in reaching our full potentials. Rebecca loves music and her favourite band is Queen - Freddie Mercury is her idol and you will find many pictures of him scattered around her home - if she has had a couple of tipples (red wine being her favourite) she can be heard singing his songs (badly).

She loves spending time outside in nature - her favourite place to be is the beach and travel is very important to her as she loves experiencing other cultures and feels there is a lot of things to learn from listening to others. Rebecca is extremely passionate about self care, self love and mental health and loves a good bubble bath with a meditation track and some candles.

About the salon

Never underestimate the power of vibration….

Spirituality is so important to me so I wanted to create a workspace that embodied quirkiness and individuality with little expressions of my personality and the things that inspire me most.

Named after my favourite place to stay in Bali and filled with positive quotes, oracle cards & crystals - Black Penny Beauty Lounge is nothing you’ve seen (or felt) before.

They say every human has an aura so I decided it only seemed right to give my space a calming wash of purple throughout so you can be sure to relax and unwind in a beauty space that feels like home.
